Annual competition for high school students in the field of economics. The competition’s activities are designed to stimulate creative problem-solving skills among students interested in Economics, Business, and Finance.

What is TEO?
Turkey Economics Olympiad (TEO) is an annual olympiad in economics organized for students at the highschool level in Turkey. TEO is the only accredited institution in Turkey that can form a national team to be sent to the International Economics Olympiad (IEO). Turkey Economics Olympiad team also provides mentorship and networking opportunities to its alumni to help the next generation’s economists and policymakers. TEO aims to promote economics education awareness within highschool students in Turkey, and eventually incorporate economics into the national curriculum of the Republic of Turkey.
TEO Mission
Turkey Economics Olympiad has 3 aims:
- To bring the best students in Turkey in the realm of economics to be sent to the International Economics Olympiad.
- Foster a community of high-achievers who support each other on the way to become the next generation of change-makers in the country.
- To incorporate economics into the national curriculum of the Republic of Turkey at the highschool level.
Types of examinations
TEO in English
The classic Olympiad with all the sections of the original Olympiad. The winners of the TEO in English will form the team for Turkey at the International Economics Olympiad (IEO).
TEO in Turkish
The olympiad in Turkish designed for those who are not very comfortable with English language, or just want to test their economics skills. We encourage everyone interested to apply! The winners will receive various awards, but will not be featuring on the team for the IEO.
Applicants can take both exams. TEO in English contestants may also use the Turkish test as a prep test for the Olympiad.
For the English exams, you will have four different exams consisting of the following;
1. Open-ended Economics Exam (English) (1 hour)
2. Multiple choice Economics Exam (English) (1 hour)
3. Financial Literacy Game (2 hours)
4. Business case study (1 day)
For the Turkish exams, participants will take two exams consisting of the following;
1. Multiple choice Economics Exam (1 hour)

Process information
After applying to the TEO, you’ll have to take the exams according to your chosen language. Then, if you are selected for the IEO Turkey Team, you’ll have exam preparation sessions for the IEO.

Our mission
Turkey Economics Olympiad is an organization that runs as a non-profit. We aim to make economics education accessible to the Turkish youth by running the Olympiad in both languages, and providing opportunities for learning for all of our attendees.
